i never add anyone new to my list of music favorites on facebook, but i added penguin prison (did i really just link to a myspace page? yes. yes, i did). i noticed his initial blogosphere hype a while back and since i hate blogosphere hype i noted only his HOTNESS. then i saw holy ghost! open for lcd at terminal 5 and there penguin prison was, dancing all cute with a tambourine at hand whilst singing backup for them. so i finally got into his few original songs and remixes that are splattered all over his record label blog (did i really just link to a record label blogspot page? yes. yes, i did) and was all, 'okay, fine, he writes super-catchy pop melodies and is mega good at producing lo-fi electro-esque shit too!' AND THEN I HEARD HIS REMIX OF GOLDFRAPP'S 'ROCKET' AND THAT SEALED DA DEAL AND NOW I WANT 2 MAKE OUT WITH AND MARRY HIM THE VERY SECOND PROP 8 IS OVERTURNED LATER TODAY OMFFGGGGGG! OH. MY. GOD. so i was shamefully listening to the david guetta album and getting sad that a few of the non-singles on there were the best that we were gonna get at the moment for anything remotely 2 unlimited-sounding, BUT THEN I LOOKED AROUND ON WIKIPEDIA AND GOOGLE AND FOUND RAY & ANITA'S BRAND-NEW SINGLE 'IN DA NAME OF LOVE'!!!! AND IT'S, LIKE, INSANELY GOOD!!!! AND IT HAS A 'DA' IN DA TITLE!!! AND I'VE ALREADY LISTENED TO IT, LIKE, 40 TIMES!!! okay, sure, it's technically not a 2 unlimited production—the original producers own that name and all that music or something—but this sure sounds like the PERFECT update of what 2 unlimited should be, with the personalities we love still intact (but hopefully not dying from breast cancer, as has been reported?!?!)! the one item i'd buy from the just-launched, totally offcial michaeljacksonmerch.com would be the 'dangerous' sleep mask. it's one of the few items that isn't disgustingly christian audigier, but more importantly it's the only item that's directly related to 'dangerous.' that's my favorite michael jackson album of all time, as it perfectly epitomizes that underrated, beautifully overproduced sound of early '90s pop music that i adore so much. of course, i'd never wear this mask to sleep or otherwise, but i'd certainly put it somewhere where i'd see it. it reminds me of God's dita mask in a way, which, coincidentally, came out around the same era. i remember owning 'dangerous' and staring at that fabulously gaudy album cover for hours, those eyes the only glimpse of michael on the whole thing. i'll never forget that, that album, or him.

their video for 'this boy's in love' is amazing too but it's in a way that has nothing to do with dance

i can't stand their stupid-ass fashion sense, but every now and then the presets hit it out of the ballpark with their music videos. i caught 'if i know you' on the best show on television, 'newnownext' on logo, the other night, and it stuck with me for days after. i'm a sucker for NON-hip hop dance videos, the kinds that utilize the modern dance i studied in college. the kinds that actually use dance to SAY SOMETHING, instead of just showing off stupid skills. i love this clip. a lot. it's beautiful sad.

dang, have you seen 'kröd mändoon and the flaming sword of fire' on comedy central? the ads for it have been plastered around new york city for WEEKS. billboards... buses... taxis... telephone booths... i haven't seen an episode yet even though i have them all saved, because i've been too busy studying and jogging and sleeping and hanging out with friends and catching up on other shows like 'newnownext' and 'the view.' is 'kröd' even worth watching? apparently the show is really gay-friendly or something? what's REALLY gay-friendly for certain is kröd mändoon himself. mmm... sean maguire. he's fiiiiine! is his sword the flaming one? is his beard as hot as it is in the advertisements? does he mention me in the show? should i even bother watching this shizz? am i alive?

in honor of BUNNY DAY today i'd like to tip my bunny-eared cap towards one of my favorite INNOCENT BABY BUNNY ANGELS of all time, the bunny of the parisian metro a.k.a. le lapin du métro parisien!! of course he is very controversial since he is IN PAIN because he is getting his hand smashed in the doors of a paris subway car, but what makes up for it is that he is sacrificing himself to this momentary pain in order to educate the public about proper metro-riding etiquette. AND EDUCATION IS BEAUTIFUL. plus there are a zillion of him stickered around the entire underground system there, so his omnipresence is very representational of how i feel when i go out into the world and feel bunny angels everywhere i go, guiding me with love to the light. a couple months ago i saw that there was a facebook fan page dedicated to him and you know i became a fan of that bitch in a snap. i can't believe someone invented something that fuses two of my deepest passions together: INNOCENT BABY BUNNY ANGELS AND WASHING DISHES! dutch by design has done just that with designer chris koens's dish rack, which features an outline of a darling, innocent baby bunny angel who pleasantly keeps your squeaky-clean dishes company as they dry. I LOVE IT AND WANT IT even though i already have a dish rack that's already built into my sink and stuff. it doesn't matter though cuz the power of bunny angels would make me rip out that rack in order to make this one wherque! i dunno how they look now, but back in 1996, producer/drummer butch vig's bangs were amazing. ESPECIALLY in garbage's 'stupid girl' video. his floppiness in that clip totally inspires me to this day. just watch for yourself: for the most part, he's there on the drums in the shadows, but then his hair suddenly explodes into the light, and in your face, at 1:10, 1:57, 2:56, and 4:17. that last bit at 4:17, especially, always sticks with me. always. like buttah.

i'm really pissed at h&m cuz they had this shirt on sale this season but it's only available in the women's section as one of those long skinny shirts with the huge drooping neckline and i absolutely cannot wear that kind of shit with my boob problem and fatty gut. and that makes me sad as shit cuz THAT SONG IS PERHAPS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER CREATED IN THE RAVE ERA A.K.A. i saw ronaldo martinez himself on the l train subway line a couple of days ago, which was insane since the anti-smoking ad campaign he's in is all over the interiors of that line. he had a piece of cloth covering up the hole in his throat and nobody else noticed him when he stepped in at the 8th avenue end-of-the-line stop as everyone else stepped out. i was shocked at first that i noticed him but then i felt kinda pleased to see a minor local nyc celebrity sighting like that but then i felt sad that he is the way that he is but then i felt numb cuz you know what? if you smoke that's the shit that can happen to you and you motherfucking know it. so please don't smoke cuz if you do and if you turn out like him i will be sad and then numb cuz you totally asked for it and cuz tings will neva be da same... agaeeen from then on.

as i impatiently wait for the broadway version of 'the little mermaid,' my favorite disney movie of all time, to debut, the only thing i can really do is salivate over the new disney bridal dresses! my god, what a fabulous little marketing tool, totally aimed directly at the hearts of all the little girls trapped in grown women's (and gay men's) bodies! i obviously totally love the ariel line, it being the most slimming, but i also totally respect the regal-yet-subdued sleeping beauty line. the other princesses, including belle (left), are pleasant and stuff, but they're just not my favorite chartacters. i always hated 'beauty and the beast' for getting all the oscar glory. fuck that. fuck belle.

don't ask me how or why i know, but the best song on diddy's album last year was 'after love' featuring keri hilson. timbaland produced that track, which i'm not surprised about, but i am surprised that keri is all over tim's newest album, which is shaping up to be in my top, like, 3 of the year. along with nena, ollie & remmler, i'm obsessed with current german pop chart-toppers debbie rockt! and their debut single, 'ich rocke'. they're an all-girl rock group who are all in their teens and their song is about rocking out. it's very simple shit, really. they're totally the female response to teen punk band tokio hotel, who are the biggest things over there right now. which means that, like tokio hotel, they're probably totally svengali-ed or record label-made or something. i think. regardless, they're beautifully overstyled and punked up and packaged and i like that and them very much.

it would never fly in the states, but in germany, 'para-comedy' is a real life program on german comedy central. i caught an episode when i was there, and while i was expecting something jaw-dropping like 'jackass' at its prime—except with handicapped people—i only got a couple of lame guys in wheelchairs rolling around in public in punk rock clothing and a one-armed dude claiming to be a nazi VERY loudly in public while on the phone. zzz. yeah, it did have its moments, though, like when the same one-armed dude booked a trick by saying he can encase his stump in a condom VERY loudly in public while on the phone... and ending the conversation with 'bye, dad!' that shit made me guffaw. but really, it's a show more about the public's stunned reactions to all these shenanigans than the shenanigans themselves. and since germans tend to be shocked by anything in public—even half-breed gayzns with facial hair and longish mop-tops, like me—it just kinda started to bore me after 30 minutes. been there, done that.

i think the movie is based on a book or something but i don't like reading german so i dunno
